I am Michael Davis, and I’m running for Sheriff of Churchill County. I invite you to take some time to learn more about who I am, my background in law enforcement, and the values that have guided my career.
I am running for Sheriff because I care deeply about the people of Churchill County and the future of this community.
This is my home, and it deserves a Sheriff's Office that's not just responsive - but proactive. As your sheriff, I will focus on public safety, strong community partnerships, and protecting the way of life that makes this county special.
With the growth we're seeing, we have to stay ahead of the challenges that come with it. That means supporting our deputies, strengthening communication with the public, and working together to prevent problems before they happen.
I'm committed to building on the strong foundation already in place while making sure we're prepared for what is ahead.
I'd be honored to earn your trust and support.

Honoring Our Past. Protecting Our Future.
1. Protect Our Community First
Victims and public safety over offenders
-
Prevent violent crime, crimes against residents, and crimes against children
-
Strengthen victim advocacy and improve communication throughout investigations
-
Ensure deputies are highly trained to handle high-risk situations
-
Increase patrol presence in residential neighborhoods and rural areas
2. Trust Built Through Service
“To effectively serve a community, you must first know it and be part of it.”
For the last 17 years I’ve called Churchill County Home. For 13 of those years, I’ve proudly served
with the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office--working with residents, supporting local youth sports, and
building real relationships.
That trust isn’t a slogan, it’s a foundation of effective policing.
3. Recruit, Retain, and Support Deputies
A strong agency starts with strong people.
-
Support competitive pay to attract and keep quality Deputies.
-
Invest in modern, relevant training
-
Build a professional culture that challenges, supports, and rewards growth.
I don’t want deputies to start their careers here and leave - I want them to build their careers and their
lives in Churchill County.
4. A Working Sheriff: Leadership Through Action
A Sheriff should lead from the front - not just behind a desk.
I will be present, engaged, and working alongside deputies and the community every day to ensure
accountability, visibility, and leadership in action.
5. Strong Partnerships, Better Results
Public safety works best when we work together.
I will strengthen partnerships with local government, law enforcement, schools, and community
organizations to solve problems, share resources, and keep Churchill County safe.
